The Grand opening of recently restored Ruyton XI Towns Castle and new access path through the Churchyard takes place this Sunday 18th May at 2pm.

Belle Vue Garden Trail – 18/05/08
A fore runner event to the Belle Vue Arts Festival 2008 is taking place on Sunday 18th May.

Sixteen gardens will open in Belle Vue on a trail that travels from Longden Road via Hereford Road to Bynner Street between 2-5pm.

Sunflowers will mark the gardens open and more will be enhanced by a scarecrow, sculpture or display.

There will be music, art and crafts, refreshments and plants for sale.

Admission to gardens by programme is £3 which are available at Alysanne's on the Greyfriars Bridge and from all gardens on the day.

Shawbury Village Players Present: 'Tears & Laughter' - 16/05/08
Shawbury Village Players present an evening of two 'One Act' plays:

'Look at Me' (a thought provoking drama) and 'First Time Around' (a comedy set at a wedding reception).

The evening titled 'Tears & Laughter' will take place on Friday 16th May in Shawbury village Hall at 7.30pm

Charity Dinner & Dance – 29/05/08
A charity dinner dance and time auction in aid of the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre Appeal is taking place on Thursday 29th May 2008, 7:00pm

Tickets £18 and the first 50 people to buy a ticket will receive a free gift on the night. Come along and have a good time!

Shrewsbury Flower Club– 29/05/08
Shrewsbury Flower Club’s next meeting will be held at the Shirehall on Thursday 29th May starting at 7.15pm.

The demonstrator for the evening will be Jackie Charnock and her theme will be "Maybe".

Non-members are very welcome to attend the meeting.

Charity Book Sale – 31/05/08
A charity book sale is taking place in The Square, Shrewsbury on
Saturday 31st May from 10am onwards.

The book sale will be in aid of Confide Counselling Service, a local registered charity, who have been providing counselling for the people of Shrewsbury and surrounding areas for over 20 years.

CHARITY PLANT SALE– 31/05/08
A Charity Plant Sale and Garden Party in aid of the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre Appeal will take place on Saturday 31st May 2008 between 10am and 12 noon at Ashdene, Hook-a-Gate.

The event will feature a variety of bedding plants, cakes, books, bring and buy, raffle plus much more.

Entrance is free!

26th Shrewsbury Cub Scout Group
The 26th Shrewsbury Cub Scout Group meets every Tuesday at their base in Field Crescent.

There are currently a few places left for both boys and girls aged between 8-10 and a helf.

Karate Sessions
Karate sessions for beginners take place every Saturday between 9am – 11am at Castlefields Community Centre.

Adult Beginner lessons are between 9-10am and Children from 10am.

Salsa Classes in Shrewsbury
Age Concern’s Salsa Class are being held at The Lantern in Sundorne.

The Classes are held on a Monday morning between 11am -12noon and costs £2.50 per week.

This is a fun class for Salsa Beginners to Improvers and Barbara Larkin who takes the class is a well known Salsa teacher in Shrewsbury.
