THE SEVERN CELEBRATES ITS 1ST BIRTHDAY
106.5 The Severn Shrewsbury’s
true local radio station recently celebrated its first anniversary
on-air.
Broadcasting to Shrewsbury and the surrounding
area live from Abbey Foregate on 106.5FM The Severn offers
listeners a choice of great music and information.
Will Tudor launched The Severn live
on air at 6am on Monday 18th September 2006 after the station
was awarded the license to broadcast to Shrewsbury and Central
Shropshire in the February of 2006.
Managing Director Pete Wagstaff said:
“It has been a great 12 months and we’re all
proud to be celebrating the first birthday.”
“The audience figures have been
much better than we could have anticipated.”
“I think The Severn has done really
well in both Shrewsbury and Oswestry. We’re delighted
that everyone has taken to us so quickly.”
Breakfast show presenter Will Tudor
said: “We have a lot of fun. It has been a great year
and its great being back on radio.
“We have a lot loyal listeners
who regularly contact the show and it is amazing to have
people who have followed me over the years.”
The Severn team would like to take this opportunity to thank
all our listeners for making the past twelve months so enjoyable…
