106.5 The Severn launched on Monday September 18th 2006, we are part of the Midland News Association who locally publish the Shropshire Star, Shropshire Magazine and Telford Journal.

The MNA also operate two other radio stations 107.4 Telford FM for East Shropshire and 107.2 The Wyre broadcasting across North Worcestershire.

Our Area
We broadcast to Shrewsbury and central Shropshire playing music from the classics to today, mixed with local news and information, sport, travel and weather.

News
Our local news service delivers local updates throughout the day and extended news bulletins weekdays at 1:00pm and 6:00pm, providing our listeners the most up to date comprehensive news for the area.

Music
We feature great oldies from the past four decades, along with the cream of the current Top 20 songs and album releases. We also feature specialist shows, including a dance party, 80's music, charts and new music from local, unsigned bands.

Travel News
Our all day travel news service helps you get to your destination without being caught up in lengthy traffic jams, our travel reporters broadcasting live from the "Travel Truck" also have the latest news on the area's car parks helping you to avoid having to look for available spaces.

Events Guide
We are part of the fabric of Shrewsbury and the surrounding area send us details of your local events so we can pass them on to our listeners - it's free for charity and fund-raising events.

106.5 The Severn brings you local information on car parking, chemist rotas, lost and found, jobs, Crime Stoppers and flood risks.

106.5 The Severn is licensed by Ofcom the broadcasting regulator, at all times we have to conform to a broadcasting format set by ofcom.
